    Students will excel at thinking critically, conducting research, solving problems, and communicating arguments by refining the skillsets necessary to disseminate scholarly work at an academic conference or via publication. Working closely with colleagues from different disciplines, students will explore complex problems; conduct appropriate research; discover viable solutions; create academic papers, posters, or presentations; and polish those products for dissemination at an appropriate venue.     Service learning offers students an opportunity to connect classroom content with real-life experiences. It provides an opportunity to teach students about responsible citizenship through collaborating with members of the community.     Under the customized supervision of a faculty mentor, students will prepare a capstone project appropriate to the problems, issues, and research methods of the student?s discipline, which will represent the culmination of their work in the Honors Program and prepare them for advanced study. Students are required to provide a written document or thesis representing this capstone and present it to an appropriate audience.
