    This course relies heavily on group project work with peers in the class. Students will prepare for a scoring session/recording session, and carry out the recording project in a completely remote work environment. Each student will have the opportunity to participate in multiple projects sequentially, and to fill a role of the personnel in a film production?s music department (i.e. composer, MIDI orchestrator, music mixer, music editor, etc.).     This course focuses on the creation of realistic, electronically produced mockups of orchestral compositions. Students will make an in-depth study of sample-based virtual instruments and their manipulation through Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI). Emphasis will be placed on achieving realism by controlling various MIDI parameters. This course is an elective in the Master of Music in Music Technology degree program.
